Privacy policy

We are a student-focused service that helps graduating students and interns connect to other student alumni in their new city and find housing. We collect information as students sign up to help with that.

What Information Do We Collect?

We collect information from 2 primary sources.

The first source is entered by the student and relates to information about their student status, including but not limited to the following: Graduating Semester – Major – Relocation City – Rent Budget – University Email

The second source: As students sign up, they are asked to register through Facebook. We collect information from their Facebook profile that is clearly documented and must be approved by the student before Facebook information can be collected. This Information includes but is not limited to: Name – University – Graduating Semester – User Profile Photo – Phone

Students can elect to also sign up without Facebook.

Safeguards to Protect Privacy

Our service provides the following additional safeguards to help protect privacy:

  • Users verified by student email – the student must enter their student email (.edu) as they register. A verification is sent to this student address.
  • User ID – each student receives a user id. The user id is posted with each student interaction. Other students in the system are not provided with contact information unless the student “friends” them.
  • Metroplex and University – Students are only allowed to interact with other verified users in the same university and metroplex.

Why Is Information Collected?

These are the primary reasons for collecting student information:

  • This information is used to verify the authenticity of the student and their affiliation with their university. This provides for a like-minded community of alumni in their city of relocation.
  • To search for rental housing in their new relocation city – students can elect to provide information to search for housing. This information is then used to find housing choices.
  • To help them meet other university friends also moving (or have recently moved) to their new city. Students provide information about themselves, their move dates, etc to help them make friends with others also moving to their new city. Note: personal information (email, phone, name) is not exposed to others unless provided by the student. But, students that enter Instagram and FB contact information are electing to provide these information points for other students to “add friends”, “follow”, etc.
  • Alumni and university organizations in your new city – Alumni and university organizations may be provided with information to reach out to you by email or phone as well as information about your new employer (name, recruiter name, etc.).
